Russell Ductile Castings employ more than 85 people.

Product Scope and Key Information
Established as a private business in 1984 Russell Ductile Castings is wholly owned by Chamberlin plc, a public company listed on the London Alternative Investment Market. Chamberlin plc owns two other UK foundries in Walsall and Leicester under the Chamberlin & Hill brand. Chamberlin plc provides strong and active ownership of Russell Ductile Castings. Chamberlin plc other subsidiaries include Exidor Limited, offering door security solutions and Petrel offering hazardous area lighting solutions.
Following substantial investment Russell Ductile Castings now has two separate foundries on the Scunthorpe site. One foundry covers weight ranges up to 6,000kg and the other foundry casts up to 500kg.

Metal Types

Russell Ductile Castings offers a wide range of iron alloys including Ductile (SG) Iron, Compacted (CG) Iron, Grey Iron, Austempered Ductile Iron, Abrasion Resistant Iron and Austenitic Iron.
Casting Weights
Up to 6000 kg
Product Base
Russell Ductile Castings produces castings for Turbines, Transmissions, Oil & Gas Compressors, Earth Moving Equipment, Vacuum Pumps and Machine Tools.
Russell Ductile Castings uses chemically bonded sand systems.  Foundry 1 uses furan bonded sand while foundry 2 uses phenolic urethane.
The minimum batch size is 1 with a capability to produce in volumes up to 5,000 a year.

Additional Services
Computer aided solidification modelling, pattern making; non destructive testing including radiography, magnetic particle, ultrasonic and dye penetrant; mechanical and chemical certification; heat treatment; chemical cleaning; shot-blasting; surface coating and machining.
Specialist Products
Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI), wear resistant and low temperature iron alloys providing high integrity components such as hydraulic and safety critical components to a variety of markets including Railways, Commercial Vehicles, Materials Handling, Petro-Chemical and Construction.
